Repair Aero Linen is a strong finely woven unbleached linen cloth which was traditionally used in the manufacture of aeroplanes. Traditional book binders identified the strength of the material, where it became a standard application for strengthening spines and hinges on books and boxes. Our Repair Aero Linen is similar to the original quality, but is available in a popular 800mm width x 1000 mm lengths. Japanese tissue is a thin, strong paper made from vegetable fibers from the Kozo plant which grows in Japan. Kozo Shi tissue paper is 23gsm, off white shade and available in sheets 62cms x 97cms. Kozo Shi is an ideal paper to use for mending books, with the majority of meding tissues made from Kozo fibres. Lens Tissue and Japanese Kozo Shi papers are used for paper repairs. Paste is usually used for the application of these papers. Lens tissue is 10gsm 100% Manilla Hemp, Long Soft fibres, pH.6.8, Sheet 51 x 76cm. Filmoplast R is a heat activated adhesive repair tissue (archival specification - acid & solvent free), approx 8.5gsm. For use with a tacking iron or in a heat press. It can be uses to line papers or for spot repairs. Availble in 62cm widths by 1 metre or in a roll 50 metres long rolls.Filmoplast R is the ideal product for maintenance of modern papers and newspapers, retaining the paper character of the original. Due to the low thickness of the material, filmoplast R is hardly visible. Small rolls of filmoplast R can be used to invisibly repair tears and sealed with a heating iron. (Please contact us for more information.) Filmoplast P - 20 g/m² and Filmoplast P90 - 50 g/m² are both self adhesive repair tapes. Filmoplast P is Transparent and Filmoplast P90 is an Opaque White tape both come on a roll with a practical dispenser which separates the silicone paper from the Filmoplast when pulled, both coils are 2cm wide x 50 metres. Ideal for strengthening the joint between book cover and book body with high adhesive strength and strong tear resistance. It is hardly visible and very flexible, ideal for sticking into the fold. Filmoplast P90 Features / Product Properties Is an extremely thin paper with an ideal combination of stability and strength with softness when smoothed out after application. Coated with ageing resistant, non yellowish, non bleeding, permanently elastic acrylic adhesive, buffered with CaCO3, which is slightly alkaline, so that it is not possible to damage the documents, but with sufficient buffer capacity to prevent acid decay.
