Waxed thread is often used in handmade crafts such as hand-sewn leather goods etc. The wax on the thread provides lubrication that can make sewing easier. Plain thread can be rubbed against a cube of bee’s wax, coating the thread in the wax prior to sewing.
Beeswax can be used in so many ways. In book binding it is often used to wax threads prior to sewing the cases, but if you look online there are so many other uses.
